Ruthless Form represents something of an experiment for Curious Inversions. ...but not a controlled one. A proper scientist would set up a control, account for all variables, make a hypothesis, and change one thing at a time. Ruthless Form was a seachange; a re-arrangement of variables conducted with a masochistic curiosity about what might emerge.

First: it was written quickly. One song per day, for a week. Expedience wasn't just about schedule, it was also an essential part of the production: choosing a sound quickly and using it, choosing a musical direction and following it. Refusing to go back and choose a different direction, but exploring instead where things had already gone.

Curious Inversions produced this album intending it as an "insider morsel," a little treat for fans of the band, interested in knowing what Curious Inversions sounds like in a raw, ruthless form; to see where their music-writing process leads when left untempered.. ...good or bad.

It's a strange beast, for sure.

Well we'll. This is a good one.! I don't normally think of this label with any beats soft or otherwise. Largely because it's kinda. Just not what it is.. This release is a bit more beat orientated to an extent... . And it's really cool too. Brilliantly drifting vibes to get lost in... liking it plenty already. A good sign for this already ace label.
